Theme :

The goal of the meeting is to read approximately ten texts which have been key sources of ideas in Real Algebraic Geometry. Texts by Artin, Harnack, Hermite, Sturm, Tarski will be among them.
About 36 participants, real algebraic geometers or specialists in the history of mathematics will attend. Each text will be studied and presented by three to four participants, some of whom will be mathematical historians while others are real algebraic geometers.
Each participant is expected to play an active role and will receive a text to study and present..

It would be helpful to have at our disposal English versions of the texts which are studied during this week (and of course of all the texts in our future Source book). If you can provide such an English translation of your text (or a reference if it already exists) at least one week before our meeting in Belle-Ile, they could be photocopied and distributed to all participants.
Such translations are already available for Hermite’s texts for example : visit the link *Working group <http://thamous.univ-rennes1.fr/public/index.php?id=378&style=BurlyWood>* .
Some recommendations for your notes.
